Exams Officer - Secondary School | September Start (Merton)
Are you an organised, proactive administrator passionate about supporting students? We're a specialist agency working with secondary schools across Merton, seeking a dedicated Exams Officer to join in September and manage the full 2025-26 exam cycle.
Role Overview
Coordinate internal and external exams (GCSEs, A‑Levels): from entries, timetable planning, and seating to results distribution and certificate handling.
Serve as the key liaison between exam boards, school staff, students, invigilators, and parents, ensuring full regulatory compliance.
Recruit, train, and deploy invigilators, managing their work during exam periods.
Manage access arrangements for SEND students in partnership with the SENCO.
Oversee secure storage of exam materials and handle post-results tasks, including appeals and certificate distribution.
Ideal Candidate
Highly detail-oriented and organised, with the ability to stay calm during busy exam periods.
Proficient in IT, including MIS systems (e.g. SIMS), spreadsheets, and exam board portals.
Excellent communicator experienced in coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
Previous experience as an Exams Officer or within a busy school admin team; training and support available for motivated individuals.
