Experienced Veterinary Surgeon - Flexible Role with a Focus on Clinical Excellence

19 Days Old

Job Description

My client is currently seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join their established and supportive team. This opportunity would suit a Vet with a minimum of three years’ post-qualification experience, including at least one year working within the UK veterinary system.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a genuine enthusiasm for early diagnostics, a consistent approach to patient care and treatment planning, and a commitment to ongoing clinical development. Compassion, attention to detail, and strong communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work collaboratively within a close-knit team of both clinical and non-clinical colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:
Delivering high-quality preventive and reactive veterinary care

Diagnosing and managing a wide range of medical and surgical cases

Maintaining consistency in case continuity and client communication

Upholding a patient-first ethos with a clear focus on wellbeing

Working Pattern:
My client’s standard full-time rota is based on a four-day week, with one fixed day off to help support a healthy work-life balance. Each shift is nine hours long and includes a balance of consulting and surgical duties. In addition, every Vet is allocated a protected hour per day for administrative tasks, ensuring smooth workflow and communication.

Weekends are shared on a 1-in-4 basis.

That said, flexibility is key, my client is open to discussions around alternative working arrangements and encourages applicants seeking part-time or adjusted hours to get in touch. A personalised working pattern can often be arranged for the right candidate.

Benefits Include:
Quarterly recognition and performance-based incentives

Enhanced maternity and paternity pay

Income protection scheme

Electric vehicle salary sacrifice scheme

Health and wellbeing support via Help at Hand

Generous CPD allowance

Funded professional memberships

Internal leadership training opportunities

25 days annual leave plus bank holidays

Employee discounts and perks

Discounts on surgery services
