Introduction

DB Cargo UK is currently recruiting for a Facilities Manager to join our Property department supporting the South region.

As a Facilities Manager, you will work with in-house teams and external contractors to ensure efficient facilities management across operational and tenanted properties. A key aspect of the role is supporting the implementation of our Facilities Management Strategy to optimise costs and improve service delivery.

Across your region you will be responsible for budget management, ensuring cost-effective solutions while maintaining high standards of service. Additionally, you will oversee asset management, ensuring the upkeep, maintenance, and lifecycle planning of company assets. You will monitor and manage Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to drive performance and ensure service excellence.

This is a regional role with hybrid working opportunity and the expectation to be on site 3-4 days per week.

What will you be doing?

You will lead the delivery of facilities management across your region, covering approximately 30 properties. You'll oversee estate improvement projects, ensuring they are delivered efficiently and safely within live operational environments.

Working closely with contract partners, you will coordinate the delivery of a full range of facilities management services. A key part of the role involves effective budget management—tracking expenditure, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and ensuring services are delivered in a cost-efficient and high-quality manner.

You will also maintain strict compliance with health and safety regulations, fostering a safe working environment while making strategic decisions that drive operational excellence and long-term value.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for an experienced professional who is able to demonstrate expertise in property asset management, maintenance planning and stakeholder management skills.

You’ll need to bring experience in budget management experience, with a focus on cost control and financial planning.

A trade qualification is a requirement for this role for example plumbing, gas, electrical or fabric.

Due to the role’s responsibilities, we are looking for someone who holds a full driving license and ability to travel as required.

NEBOSH or IOSH Managing Safety qualification is desired.
