Self Employed Fire Door Site Manager / Contract Manager\nLocation: Birmingham and Coventry\nRate: Day rate – CIS / Self Employed\nSector: Passive Fire Protection / Fire Doors\n\nOverview\n\nWe are seeking an experienced Fire Door Site Manager / Contract Manager to oversee multiple fire door installation and remedial projects across Birmingham and Coventry. This is a completely off-the-tools position focused on managing site operations, coordinating joiners, and acting as the key point of contact for a major client contract.\n\nThe role will involve overseeing approximately 3–4 active sites with around 6–7 fire door joiners working across the programme. The successful candidate must have strong technical knowledge of fire doors and a proven ability to manage client relationships while ensuring works are delivered to the highest compliance and quality standards.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n * Oversee and coordinate fire door installation and remedial works across 3–4 active sites\n\n * Manage and support a team of 6–7 fire door joiners, ensuring productivity, quality and programme delivery\n\n * Act as the main point of contact for the client on a key contract, maintaining strong professional relationships\n\n * Organise site activities, schedules and daily operations across multiple projects\n\n * Coordinate deliveries, materials and site logistics to ensure smooth project delivery\n\n * Conduct regular meetings with clients and internal teams to review progress and address any issues\n\n * Ensure all works are completed in line with fire door compliance requirements and manufacturer specifications\n\n * Carry out quality inspections and ensure installation standards meet industry regulations\n\n * Oversee site documentation including RAMS, permits, compliance records and reporting\n\n * Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule and to the expected quality standards\n\nRequirements\n\n * Strong experience managing fire door installation or remedial programmes\n\n * Excellent technical knowledge of fire door compliance, installation standards and regulations\n\n * Proven experience managing multiple sites and supervising installation teams\n\n * Strong client-facing skills with experience managing key contracts\n\n * Experience coordinating logistics, materials and site programmes\n\n * SMSTS / SSSTS \n\n * Fire door related accreditations or experience working under BM TRADA, FIRAS or similar schemes is highly desirable\n\n * Strong organisational and communication skills\n\nAdditional Information\n\n * Self employed / CIS position\n\n * Based across Birmingham sites\n\n * Managing approximately 3–4 sites and 6–7 joiners\n\n * Long term opportunity for the right candidate with further projects available\n\nIf you have strong technical fire door knowledge and experience managing client-facing contracts within passive fire protection, this role offers an excellent opportunity to oversee a key programme of works
