Overview - Field Service Engineer – International travel
We are recruiting a Field Service Engineer to join a highly specialised engineering business that designs and supports some of the most advanced hydraulic and servo-controlled testing systems in the world. These systems are used to simulate extreme real-world conditions for industries including automotive (including Formula 1), civil engineering, structural testing, and seismic simulation.

You will be working on complex, bespoke test rigs that operate like “testing robots”, combining hydraulics, electronics, controls, software and mechanical engineering at a very high level.

Field Service Engineer – International travel - Key Responsibilities

Installation, commissioning and long-term support of advanced test systems
Maintenance, fault-finding and calibration of complex hydraulic and servo-controlled equipment
Working with integrated hydraulic, electrical, electronic, control and software systems
Supporting high-precision servo valve and actuator-based systems
On-site customer support across the UK initially, expanding into Europe and globally
Working closely with engineering teams to ensure optimal system performance Field Service Engineer – International travel - Technical Requirements
We are looking for engineers with a strong multi-disciplinary engineering background, ideally including:

Hydraulics (essential)
Servo systems and actuators
Electrical and electronic systems
Controls and software
Experience with servo valve testing or high-precision hydraulic systems Field Service Engineer – International travel - Travel & Working Pattern
Minimum 30% per year, up to 60% over time
Initially UK-based, expanding to Europe and potentially worldwide
Travel is well planned, typically with 3–12 weeks’ notice
