Role: Field Service EngineerVSDLocation: Field BasedSalary: Up to £45,000 Depending on experienceMy client is looking for a skilled Field Service Engineer with proven experience working with Variable Speed Drives to join their busy engineering team. This is a field-based role covering, supporting customers across industrial and commercial environments.You will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, fault-finding, maintenance, and repair of VSD systems and associated electrical/mechanical equipment.Responsibilities include:Installation and commissioning of VSDs across various industrial applicationsFault-finding and diagnostics on drive systems and associated equipmentCarry out planned preventative maintenanceProvide on-site technical support and problem resolutionParameter setting and optimisation of drive systemsWork with motors, control panels, and PLC systemsComplete service reports and documentation accuratelyEnsure compliance with health & safety standardsParticipate in on-call rotaSkills and Experience:Proven experience working with Variable Speed DrivesStrong electrical fault-finding skillsAbility to read and interpret electrical schematicsExperience commissioning and programming drive systemsRelevant electrical qualification - NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, 18th Edition preferredFull UK driving licenceStrong communication and customer service skillsAbility to work independently and manage workload effectivelyExperience with major drive manufacturers (e.g., ABB, Danfoss, Siemens, Schneider)Knowledge of PLC systems and automationWR Engineering are the #1 recruitment partner for engineering, manufacturing & technical sales jobs.
