Field Service Engineer Gloucester | UK Travel | Full-Time | Permanent£35,000 (OTE £42,000-£45,000)We are partnering with a specialist technical equipment provider to recruit a Field Service Engineer supporting advanced inspection, laboratory and materials testing systems across the UK.This position offers a high degree of autonomy, technical variety and the opportunity to work across diverse industrial and scientific environments.The OpportunityOperating from Gloucester, you will take ownership of field-based engineering activities, ensuring equipment is installed, maintained and calibrated to the highest operational and compliance standards.Your remit will include:Installing and commissioning specialist inspection and processing systemsCarrying out preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown supportPerforming calibration and verification tasks in line with technical standardsDiagnosing electrical and mechanical faults in the fieldManaging service schedules and organising site visits independentlyMaintaining accurate technical documentation and compliance recordsSupporting spare parts management and field inventory controlIdentifying opportunities for service improvements or equipment upgradesProviding professional on-site customer support and technical guidanceThis role involves nationwide travel and regular engagement with manufacturing, engineering and laboratory environments.Candidate ProfileWe are seeking a practical, solutions-focused engineer with:At least 2 years' hands-on technical service or maintenance experienceElectrical and/or mechanical fault-finding capabilityConfidence reading technical drawings and working with diagnostic toolsStrong organisational skills and the ability to plan workloads independentlyClear communication skills and a professional customer-facing approachFull UK driving licenceExperience within inspection systems, laboratory equipment, NDT, or process machinery would be advantageous but is not essential.Package & BenefitsCompetitive salary aligned to experienceCompany vehicle or allowanceLaptop, mobile phone and necessary toolingStructured manufacturer-led training39-hour working week (Monday-Friday)Annual leave allowance increasing with serviceWR Engineering are the #1 recruitment partner for engineering, manufacturing & technical sales jobs.
