Job Description

  • Location: Midlands - UK-wide site-based role with 50% overnight stays.
  • Clients: Commercial and Industrial sites, including Schools, Universities, and colleges.
  • Requirements: Enhanced DBS Check
  • Working Hours: 40 hours per week - must be flexible to early starts and late finishes as per business requirements.
  • Salary: Dependent on experience, company van and fuel card, mobile phone, tablet, pension, employment assistance programme, training provided.

We are seeking a skilled Field Service Engineer to join our Projects team and ensure the flawless operation, service, and maintenance of our ventilation units.


The Role

As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for site works including:

  • Final inspection
  • Setup
  • Commissioning
  • Servicing
  • Repairs, and
  • Occasional installation assistance


You will be the technical point of contact for clients on-site, ensuring systems operate efficiently and to specification.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct on-site final inspections and commissioning of ventilation units.
  • Fault-find, repair, and replace mechanical and electrical components (e.g., PCB boards, fans, sensors).
  • Undertake servicing on completed projects and provide aftersales support to clients.
  • Assist installation teams as required.
  • Produce site reports and documentation of work completed.
  • Provide technical support, problem-solving, and system demonstrations to clients.
  • Participate in site and project meetings; liaise with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Ensure compliance with site-specific risk assessments, RAMS, and health & safety regulations.
  • Travel frequently across the UK and be prepared for overnight stays.


Requirements:

Essential:

  • HVAC service experience, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Mechanical and electrical systems knowledge.
  • Familiarity with basic PLC controls (hardware and software).
  • Electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Relevant CSCS card.
  • Valid UK driving license (manual cars & vans).
  • Enhanced DBS Check


Desirable:

  • Electrical or Mechanical Engineering qualifications (HNC/HND/Degree).
  • PLC programming experience.
  • Health & Safety qualifications (IOSH, NEBOSH).
  • Modbus/BACnet/BMS knowledge.
  • Mechanical/Electrical installation experience.

  • Hands-on, practical approach with flexibility and team spirit.
