£25.50ph PAYE + holiday + pension / £34.90ph Via Umbrella

We’re looking for a hands-on Field Service Technician to join a specialist engineering team developing the next generation of construction machinery.

This is a rare opportunity to work directly with off-highway diggers on a live test site, getting involved in both machine testing and new product development — not just maintaining equipment, but actively helping shape future machine technology.

What will you do?

* Electrical fault finding and diagnostics on off-highway construction machinery (diggers)

* Hands-on testing of prototype and next-generation machines on site

* Reading and interpreting electrical schematics and wiring diagrams

* Building, repairing, and testing electrical harnesses

* Using diagnostic tools including oscilloscopes and handheld test equipment

* Supporting validation of new electrical and electronic systems

* Maintaining an electrical lab environment (tools, equipment, compliance, and inventory)

* Working closely with engineers on new machine development projects

What we’re looking for?

* 5–10 years’ experience in electrical fault finding and diagnostics

* Strong hands-on experience with mobile plant / off-highway machinery OR automotive diagnostics

* Ability to read and interpret schematics and wiring diagrams

* Experience with electrical harness repair and testing

* Confident using diagnostic and test equipment (including oscilloscopes)
