Finance Analyst Based in Milton Keynes Salary: £50,000 - £65,000 plus company specific benefits A leading insurance business is seeking a high-calibre Finance Analyst to join its Technical Finance team in Milton Keynes. This role would suit an ACA-qualified accountant making a first move from practice, or an individual with relevant industry experience who is keen to develop deep technical expertise within a growing, dynamic insurance business. The role is focused on providing robust technical accounting support, ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and strong financial control. You will play a key role in analysing complex transactions, supporting statutory and regulatory reporting, and contributing to finance change initiatives. The successful candidate will be comfortable working across core technical accounting disciplines while partnering effectively with stakeholders across finance and the wider business. Experience with SOC reporting and compliance is highly desirable. Key responsibilities will include: Supporting the Technical Finance team in the preparation and review of financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting Analysing and reviewing financial results to ensure completeness, accuracy and appropriate application of accounting standards Assessing accounting treatments for complex or unusual transactions, including revenue recognition considerations Supporting the interpretation and application of relevant accounting standards (e.g. IFRS), including documentation of accounting judgements and papers Monitoring financial controls and supporting process improvements to strengthen the control environment Identifying and assessing accounting and tax implications of new products, contracts or regulatory changes, ensuring appropriate implementation Supporting external audit processes, acting as a key point of contact and responding to audit queries Assisting with finance change projects, including system enhancements, ERP developments and improvements to management information Supporting SOC reporting and compliance activities, ensuring adherence to internal and external requirements You will need to: Be a qualified accountant (ACA) Have strong technical accounting knowledge, ideally gained within an accounting firm and/or a technical finance environment Experience with SOC reporting and compliance is preferred Demonstrate strong analytical skills and attention to detail Be proactive, driven, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively Have good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships across finance and the wider business If you thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative and forward-thinking environment, this is an excellent opportunity to develop your finance career within a respected business offering a salary of £50,000 - £65,000, hybrid working, a competitive benefits package, and long-term career development opportunities.
