This is a rare opportunity to step into a genuinely influential role where you will shape customer strategy, partner with senior leadership up to Board level, and take ownership of a £600m marketing investment portfolio. The Opportunity As Senior Finance Business Partner for Marketing, you will be the strategic finance voice behind customer effectiveness, brand investment decisions, and commercial performance. You’ll collaborate closely with Marketing, Customer, and Commercial Directors, providing challenge, insight, and strategic guidance to ensure investment drives both short‑term performance and long‑term brand value. You will lead and mentor a high‑performing team of three qualified accountants, empowering them to deliver best‑in‑class financial analysis, planning, and business partnering across a broad and complex marketing landscape. Key Responsibilities
Lead financial strategy and business partnering for a £600m marketing budget, ensuring spend is optimised, accountable, and aligned to customer strategy. Drive customer effectiveness initiatives, using data and insight to influence decision‑making at ExCo and Board level. Act as the strategic conduit between Finance and Marketing, shaping investment frameworks and long‑term planning. Own the end‑to‑end financial remit for Marketing — from budgeting and forecasting through to performance deep dives. Lead, develop and inspire a team of three qualified accountants. Bring rigour, commercial challenge, and strategic thinking to all marketing investment decisions.
About You You will be a confident, influential senior finance partner with a strong track record of shaping strategy in a large, customer‑centric organisation (£1bn+ turnover). You bring a natural ability to operate at pace, work through complexity, and challenge with credibility. You will also have:
Exceptional business partnering skills, with the presence to engage and influence up to Board level. Experience in consumer‑facing environments (FMCG, retail, telco, travel, or similar). A passion for customer strategy and marketing effectiveness. The ability to deliver both detail and big‑picture thinking—owning your remit “top to bottom”.
