Finance Business Partner

New Today

Overview We're recruiting a Finance Business Partner to help shape pricing and profitability at Walker Morris. In this pivotal role, you’ll partner with department heads and senior solicitors, delivering clear financial insights and constructive challenge to support strategic decision‑making. Your expertise will drive improvements in pricing, rates, and profitability, directly contributing to the firm’s ambitious growth plans. Responsibilities
Work with solicitors on producing new business cases to clients, making recommendations on suitable rates to pitch work at. Support ranges from small new instructions with existing clients to detailed recommendations on new client bids with the potential to deliver £1m+ in annual fees. Explore and respond to new challenges outside of the usual pricing process, e.g. alternative fee arrangements, the use of innovative technology in client instructions and the cost of broader Business Development investment. Work with solicitors to build commercial awareness of client relationships to ensure proposals are competitive from a market perspective. Deliver actionable insight to Partners and other senior solicitors on a timely basis regarding allocation of work by rank. Offer recommendations for re‑allocation and calculate the improvement to value of doing so. Provide detailed financial analysis to support the assessment of performance by department or client and opportunities and risks associated with further investment. Support members of the finance department and wider business to share analysis to help improve current processes and facilitate project objectives. Lead on improvements to the processes that allow solicitors to track progress against fee estimates.
