Job Description

Finance Manager | Full-Time | 60-70K + bonus | High-growth, PE-backed InsurTech | Hybrid (London)

What does this role do?

We’re hiring our first Finance Manager, a pivotal role at the heart of the business, with the opportunity to take full ownership of the finance function and build the foundations that will support our next stage of growth.

We've just announced PE-funding and are driving the next stage of business growth over the rest of 2026 - we need a bright, proactive Finance Manager to come and work alongside our CFO to make this happen.

This is a hands-on, high-impact role for someone who enjoys combining technical excellence with building and improving processes. You’ll be responsible for the integrity and accuracy of the company’s financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements, while establishing best-in-class financial control. The role centres on financial reporting, statutory accounts preparation, and embedding robust, scalable processes across the finance function.

In your first year, you’ll bring our external accountancy work in-house and step into full ownership of day-to-day finance, spanning accounting, controls, and statutory reporting. You’ll build a best-in-class month-end process that is consistently clean, timely, and accurate, underpinned by a fully reconciled balance sheet and high-quality management reporting that clearly explains performance against budget.

Beyond this, you’ll implement reliable revenue and cash tracking, introduce clear and well-documented processes, and take the lead on evolving our finance tech stack, owning system implementations that enable scale. This is a unique opportunity to shape how finance operates from the ground up and play a key role in building a function that grows with the business.

Here’s what you’ll jump into:

Financial Reporting & Month-End

  • Own the month end close process
  • Prepare accurate monthly management accounts
  • Maintain a fully reconciled balance sheet
  • Post journals (accruals, prepayments, payroll, deferred revenue)

Revenue & SaaS Accounting

  • Manage revenue recognition for subscription contracts
  • Reconcile billing systems to accounting records
  • Maintain deferred revenue schedules
  • Own the accuracy and consistency of core SaaS metrics (ARR, NRR, GRR, churn, etc.)

Financial Processing

  • Own the full AP/AR processes
  • Manage supplier/employee payment runs and cash collections
  • Oversee outsourced payroll including submission changes, review of outputs and issue resolution

Tax & Compliance

  • Prepare accurate VAT returns and sales tax reporting
  • Prepare statutory financial statements and annual Corporation tax reporting
  • Manage the annual statutory audit
  • Liaise with external accountants, tax advisors and auditors

Systems & Process Improvements

  • Own the accounting system and manage any future system upgrades
  • Continually improve processes and document Standard Operating Procedures

Other

  • Assist CFO in company-wide process, data or reporting improvements
  • Assist CFO with re-forecast and budgeting processes

What we'd like to see in a candidate:

  • 3–5 years post qualified experience in a similar role
  • Experience working in a scale-up SaaS environment
  • ACA / ACCA qualified, obtained through a formal audit/accountancy background
  • Strong working with data
  • Strong communicator
  • High attention to detail

If you're up for the challenge of driving growth and reporting standards at a PE backed InsurTech, this could be for you.
