Robert Half is partnering with a high-growth, investment-led business in Birmingham to appoint a Financial Controller .
This is a newly created role following a period of sustained expansion and private investment, offering significant exposure to the senior leadership team and a clear route to Finance Director as the business continues its growth trajectory.
Working closely with the CFO, you'll take ownership of the day-to-day finance function, lead a small team, and help shape the financial strategy as the business scales - both organically and through acquisition.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all aspects of financial reporting, controls, and month-end close.
Partner with the CFO on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.
Lead, mentor and develop a small, high-performing finance team.
Implement process improvements and strengthen financial governance.
Support the integration of new acquisitions and drive reporting consistency across the group.
Prepare insightful financial analysis to support commercial decision-making.
About You:
ACA qualified, ideally trained in a Big 4 or top-tier accounting firm.
Looking for afirst or second move from practice into an ambitious, high-growth business.
Strong technical grounding in financial reporting and controls, with the confidence to partner at board level.
Commercially minded, with the ability to balance day-to-day rigour with strategic input.
Proactive, curious, and driven - someone who wants to make an impact in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
