JKS Restaurants are seeking a Financial Controller to join the team. Responsible for end-to-end finance delivery across a complex, multi-entity and internationally focused part of the business. The role combines strong financial control with commercial leadership and is accountable for the integrity of financial reporting, balance sheet control and operational finance across the Parent, Indian, and Kitchen Table portfolio.

The Role
Working alongside specialist functions including FP&A, Supply Chain and Cashflow, the Financial Controller will ensure the portfolio is audit-ready, cash-aware and operating within a robust control environment.The role requires strong coordination across functions, ensuring financial reporting, planning, cashflow and operational performance are aligned as well as supporting international growth, including multi-currency considerations and working with stakeholders across different regions.
End-to-End Finance Ownership
Own finance delivery across the portfolio, ensuring accuracy, quality and pace of reporting
Lead monthly close, ensuring accurate P&L, balance sheet and cash reporting at brand and entity level
Ensure all journals, reconciliations and supporting schedules are completed to a high standard
Identify issues early, prioritise effectively and resolve with clear recommendations
Financial Control & Balance Sheet Integrity
Maintain an accurate trial balance and strong accounting records across all entities
Ensure balance sheets are fully reconciled, reviewed and actioned
Own the control environment, including cut-off, approvals, documentation and audit trail
Ensure key areas (accruals, prepayments, payroll, intercompany) are well understood and controlled
Audit, Statutory & Compliance Oversight
Work closely with the Senior Financial Accountant to ensure all entities are audit-ready and statutory requirements are met
Ensure balance sheet positions and supporting schedules are prepared to a standard suitable for audit
Review VAT returns for the portfolio, ensuring accuracy and compliance prior to submission
Escalate technical accounting or compliance risks with clear recommendations
Cashflow and Capex Oversight
Work closely with the Cashflow & Capex lead to ensure cashflow forecasts are robust, accurate and aligned to business activity
Review capex spend and forecasts, ensuring alignment to approved budgets and business priorities
Ensure cash implications of operational and commercial decisions are understood and considered
Monitor and understand FX exposure and ensure impacts are appropriately reflected in reporting and forecasts
Commercial Finance & Decision Support
Act as the senior finance partner to operational leadership, providing commercially grounded insight and challenge
Work closely with the Head of FP&A to ensure alignment between reporting, forecasting and performance analysis
Support decision-making across pricing, labour, productivity, menu mix and new initiatives
Provide clear analysis on performance trends, margin drivers and controllable costs
Cross-Functional & International Coordination
Partner with the Head of Supply Chain and Cost Control Supervisor to ensure procurement, cost control and margin drivers are accurately reflected in financial outputs
Collaborate with the Senior Financial Accountant on statutory, audit and technical accounting matters
Ensure financial outputs reflect the operational and commercial reality across a geographically diverse portfolio
Work with stakeholders across different regions and time zones to support international operations
Process Improvement & Prioritisation
Build and embed scalable finance processes across a complex portfolio
Improve efficiency and control through better process design and system use
Prioritise effectively across competing demands, making clear decisions on focus areas
Drive continuous improvement in reporting quality and controls
Team Leadership & Capability
Lead and develop the finance team, including the Senior MA, MA, Payroll Officer and Accounts Assistants
Set clear expectations and accountability for delivery, quality and controls
Work closely with the Senior MA to ensure consistency and quality across outputs
Build a high-performing team with strong ownership and reduced dependency on escalation
The ideal candidate will have:
ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified with 57 years+ post-qualification experience (or equivalent)
Strong experience in a Financial Controller or similar role within a multi-entity environment
Proven ownership of month-end, balance sheet control and financial reporting
Strong technical accounting knowledge, with experience supporting statutory reporting and audit processes
Experience working in a multi-site business (hospitality, retail or similar)
Strong understanding of financial controls, processes and governance
Experience working alongside or coordinating with specialist functions (e.g. FP&A, tax, audit, supply chain)
Experience in an internationally operating business, including multi-currency or FX exposure
(4 days office, 1 day from home)
