OverviewFinatal is partnering with a PE-backed digital and software services business with turnover of c.£15m, operating in a data-led, project-based environment. The business is seeking a hands-on Financial Controller to lead day-to-day finance operations, strengthen the control environment and provide clear financial insight to support growth and value creation. Reporting to the CFO, this role will balance technical financial ownership with commercial partnering across the organisation, helping to ensure the business is well prepared for exit in around 24 months.ResponsibilitiesLead and develop a small finance team, ensuring high standards of delivery and continuous improvementOwn the production of timely and accurate monthly management accounts and balance sheet reconciliationsManage cashflow, working capital and short- to medium-term cash forecastingPlay a key role in annual budgeting and periodic reforecasting processesPrepare management, board and investor reporting, including KPI analysis and performance commentaryPartner with project and sales teams to ensure accurate revenue recognition, cost control and margin analysisMaintain and improve financial systems, models and processes to support scalabilityLead statutory reporting, audit processes and liaison with external advisorsEnsure compliance across tax, payroll, VAT and other regulatory requirementsStrengthen governance, internal controls and risk management frameworksSupport the CFO with ad hoc analysis and initiatives aligned to growth and exit readinessQualificationsACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent)Proven experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance role within a growing, PE-backed or project-led businessHigh Flyer with proven career progression & strong educational backgroundStrong track record of owning month-end, management reporting and balance sheet control end to endExperience managing cashflow, working capital and budgeting processesComfortable operating in a hands-on capacity while partnering credibly with senior stakeholdersAbility to lead, develop and motivate a small finance teamStrong technical accounting knowledge with excellent attention to detailAdvanced Excel skills and experience working with modern finance systemsAdaptable, resilient and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment with changing prioritiesDetailsSeniority level: Mid-Senior levelEmployment type: Full-timeJob function: FinanceIndustries: Venture Capital and Private Equity PrincipalsWe’re unlocking community knowledge in a new way.
