Summary Responsible for driving technical accounting compliance, financial and operational internal controls, process simplification, and operational excellence to deliver accurate actual financial reporting and analysis. Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market.
Roles and Responsibilities
Directly managing a team of 5 UK employees and oversee support teams in other countries. Responsible for UK Statutory and US GAAP accounting & audit. Leading projects that drive increased accuracy and granularity whilst reducing month‑end close cycle. Month‑end analysis and reporting to senior leadership. Implement a culture of Lean utilizing FLIGHT DECK and GE Aerospace's lean operating model. Driving technical accounting compliance, financial and operational internal controls, process simplification and operational excellence to deliver accurate actual financial reporting and analysis. Apply best practices within the overall finance function. Responsible for general accounting and policy application & process administration for all cycles including inventory, revenue recognition, receivables/payables and inter‑company. Interpret and apply Enterprise Standards, SOPs and Process Maps to deliver globally competitive financial process/accounting services. Ensuring best practices are implemented within the finance function. Contribute towards strategy and policy development and ensure delivery within finance. Influence stakeholders and communicate complex messages effectively. Use judgment to make decisions or solve highly complex tasks or problems that impact the finance function. Take a new perspective on existing solutions. Use technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations.
Required Qualifications
Professional accounting qualification. Significant experience in controllership. Experience leading accounting and finance teams. Established project‑management skills. Demonstrated ability to analyse and resolve problems. Working experience of SAP and Excel.
Desired Characteristics
UK Statutory and/or US GAAP accounting & audit experience. Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to document, plan, market and execute programs.
