Total Concept Services Limited has a position available for a fire alarm/smoke ventilation/emergency lighting servicing engineer for West and Central Scotland.
We are a small family-owned company with an experienced team of engineers working mostly within the property management sector in central Scotland for the last 25+ years.
Starting salary of Fire Alarm Engineer : Subject to Experience, £38K - £42K per year

We’re looking for an additional fire alarm service engineer to cover the Scottish Central belt, particularly Glasgow area and the West - The successful candidate will join a small family-owned company with an experienced team of engineers working mostly within the property management sector. You will work largely unsupervised (but with technical back-up when required), organising your own time and travel logistics, completing schedules of maintenance at a fairly relaxed pace, and carrying out small repair works as required.
Responsibilities and Duties of Fire Alarm Engineer :
The maintenance and small repairs of fire alarms, smoke ventilation systems and emergency lighting in a timely manner ensuring relevant British Standards are maintained.
Maintaining stocks of materials and tools carried in vehicles for day-to-day repairs.
Presenting a professional and courtious appearance at all times.
Adherence to Company Policies & Procedures.
Participation in the Company's emergency geographical and very infrequent call out process.
Compliance with all Environmental, Health & Safety Procedures.
Compliance with Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety directives including but not limited to PPE, Accident Reporting and Risk Assessment Method Statements (RAMS).
Qualifications and personal skills of Fire Alarm Engineer :
Current 18th Edition electrical installation qualification preferred.
Experience working with fire alarm systems, smoke ventilation systems and emergency lighting, comfortable working safely with mains electricity.
Ability to create detailed reports on a tablet PC using template forms.
Must hold a Full UK Driving Licence.
Must be reliable, punctual, trustworthy and self-motivated with the ability to work confidently, mostly alone as well as in a team.
Must ensure all work is carried out to a high standard & documentation completed accurately.
Must be able to manage time effectively, prioritising tasks and able to work to deadlines.
Must be able to adapt successfully to ever changing situations and environments.
Must have determination to get things done, and be constantly looking for better ways of doing things.
Must be able to act on initiative, identify opportunities and be proactive in putting forward ideas and solutions. xbpsjku
Must have excellent communication and relationship building skills.
Candidates will be subject to a satisfactory police & DBS check and security screening in accordance with BS7858.
