We are currently recruiting for an experienced Fire Door Inspector to join a growing compliance team, supporting fire safety across residential and/or commercial properties.
This role is critical in ensuring fire doors meet current legislation, standards, and best practice, with a strong focus on BM TRADA guidance and certification requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out detailed fire door inspections in line with BM TRADA, BS 8214, and relevant fire safety standards

Accurately assess fire doors, frames, ironmongery, seals, glazing, and signage

Record inspection findings using digital or paper-based reporting systems

Identify non-compliance issues and provide clear remedial recommendations

Liaise with clients, site teams, and contractors to explain inspection outcomes

Ensure all work complies with current Fire Safety Regulations and industry best practice

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in fire door legislation and BM TRADA guidance

Essential Requirements

Proven experience as a Fire Door Inspector

Strong working knowledge of BM TRADA standards and inspection methodology

Understanding of BS 8214 and passive fire protection principles

Ability to produce clear, accurate inspection reports

Full UK driving licence (if role involves site travel)

Good communication skills and attention to detail

Desirable

BM TRADA Fire Door Inspection certification

Experience working within social housing, local authority, healthcare, or commercial buildings

Familiarity with digital compliance systems or asset management software
