Fleet Vehicle Mechanic Location: Oldham (Greater Manchester) Salary: £30,000 – £60,000 (DOE) + Overtime (time and a half) Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday–Friday (7:00am – 5:00pm) Flexible working available for the right candidate (including early finishes where possible)The Opportunity This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly regarded, Mercedes-specialist operation in Oldham, known for its expertise across both UK and international markets.Working in a state-of-the-art, fully heated workshop, you'll use advanced Mercedes diagnostic systems while supporting a diverse fleet – from passenger vehicles to heavy goods and specialist recovery units. The business operates a comprehensive, on-site setup, handling everything from vehicle sourcing and dismantling to global parts distribution.As part of a close-knit, highly skilled team, you'll have the chance to refine your technical expertise, work at a high standard, and progress into senior or leadership roles within a growing and well-established environment.RequirementsEssential Proven experience working in a workshop environmentStrong diagnostic, problem-solving, and organisational skillsPassion for delivering high-quality service with a results-driven mindsetOwn toolsMinimum 5 years' experience in: Commercial vehiclesFleet maintenance Full UK driving licenceNVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair Desirable / Highly Desirable Minimum 5 years' experience in: Recovery vehicles (preferred)Mercedes-Benz experience or training (highly desirable) HGV / LGV qualificationsMercedes-Benz certification (highly desirable)MOT Tester qualification (advantageous) What You'll Be Doing: Using cutting-edge Mercedes software and tools to diagnose and fix issuesService, maintain, and repair a range of commercial vehiclesCarry out diagnostics and fault finding using advanced systemsWork on: Light commercial vehicles (vans)HGVs / LGVsComplete a mix of servicing, diagnostics, and major repairsAdapt to a fast-paced workshop where workloads can vary daily What's in It for You?
