Food Technician

Location: Secondary School, Newham Contract: [Full-time] Start Date: Immediately

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Food Technician to join our successful Design & Technology department at a vibrant secondary school in Newham.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality Food Preparation and Nutrition lessons, ensuring a safe, well-organised, and engaging learning environment for students.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare ingredients, equipment, and resources for practical food lessons

Support teachers during practical sessions

Maintain a clean, safe, and well-stocked food technology area in line with health and safety regulations

Manage ordering, stock control, and storage of ingredients and equipment

Assist with risk assessments and food hygiene procedures

Support students' learning and practical skills development

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Experience working in a food, catering, or educational setting (school experience desirable)

Knowledge of food hygiene, health and safety, and allergen awareness

Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

The ability to work effectively as part of a team
