Are you a nature-lover who believes that the best lessons happen under a canopy of trees? Our Alternative Provision (AP) in Burnley is seeking a visionary Forest School Teacher to lead our outdoor learning program.
We work with young people who find the traditional classroom challenging. In this role, you won't just be teaching; you'll be building confidence, resilience, and emotional regulation through bushcraft, fire lighting, tool use, and environmental art in the local Burnley woodlands.
Key Responsibilities
Outdoor Curriculum: Design and deliver a "Forest School" program tailored to students with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs.
Alternative Provision (AP) Support: Use nature-based therapy to re-engage learners with education.
Safety & Risk Management: Conduct dynamic risk assessments for outdoor activities, ensuring a safe yet adventurous environment.
Burnley Community Impact: Utilise local green spaces to foster a sense of belonging and environmental stewardship.
