Stoneborn Technologies builds the operating system for modern re/insurance with the mission to automate the infrastructure of risk capital. We are a small team of former Palantir and Swiss Re engineers building AI-native systems that turn the manual backbone of insurance into transparent, code-defined workflows.


What We Build

Insurance still runs on PDFs, spreadsheets, and email. We build modular AI agents that turn these workflows into deterministic, auditable process chains. Our first product is in pilot at leading re/insurers. With the first product license signed, we are expanding across the value chain to capture end-to-end processes.


The Role

You will build production systems used by our clients, owning application logic across the full stack. You will work closely with backend services and AI agents, prioritizing correctness, maintainability, and clean system design over speed-to-ship. You will own features from design to deployment and iterate directly with users.


Responsibilities

  • Build and ship production features across the full stack
  • Implement application logic that connects user workflows to backend services and agents
  • Work with product and users to translate manual workflows into software
  • Integrate with APIs, databases, and third-party systems
  • Raise the bar on code quality, testing, and engineering standards across the team


You Bring

  • 4+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • Strong engineering fundamentals: you write clean, well-tested, maintainable code and hold others to the same standard
  • Proficiency in TypeScript + Python and comfort working across the stack
  • Hands-on experience with FastAPI in production environments
  • Familiarity with AWS and comfort deploying and operating cloud infrastructure
  • Ability to reason about systems end-to-end, from data model to user-facing behaviour
  • A bias toward simplicity and correctness over complexity
