Job Title: Geography Teacher Location: Hillingdon, London, UK Job Type: Full Time, Permanent Salary: £37,870 – £56,154 per annum Start Date: 20 April 2026 Salary will be determined based on experience and position on the Main Pay Range. The maximum salary applies to candidates with substantial teaching experience.
About the Role
Teach Now is recruiting a passionate and resilient Geography Teacher to join a secondary school in Hillingdon from April 2026. This is a full-time, permanent position offering the opportunity to deliver engaging and inclusive lessons that inspire students to understand the world around them.
You will be teaching primarily across Key Stages 3 and 4, fostering curiosity about global issues while maintaining high expectations for behaviour, effort and achievement.
Key Responsibilities
• Plan and deliver high-quality Geography lessons in line with the national curriculum
• Adapt teaching to suit mixed-ability and potentially challenging classes
• Create an engaging, inclusive and well-managed classroom environment
• Maintain high expectations for behaviour and use effective classroom management strategies
• Teach key topics such as climate change, urbanisation and global issues
• Assess, monitor and report on student progress, using data to inform planning
• Provide clear feedback and support students in closing learning gaps
• Work collaboratively within the Humanities department and communicate effectively with staff, parents and carers
• Uphold the school’s values and contribute positively to the wider school community
Person Specification Essential Requirements
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Experience teaching Geography at Key Stage 3 (Key Stage 4 desirable)
• Strong classroom management skills
• Confidence working with challenging behaviour
• Ability to engage and motivate students of all abilities
• Resilience, adaptability and a proactive approach to teaching
Desirable
• Experience in diverse or inner-London school settings
• Proven track record of raising student attainment
• Strong subject knowledge across human and physical Geography
