Job Title: Geotechnical Engineer\n Location: Manchester\n Salary: £30,000 - £45,000 (depending on experience)\n\nThe Role\n An established and growing consultancy in Manchester is looking to bring in a Geotechnical Engineer to support a wide range of infrastructure, commercial, and residential projects across the UK. This is a hands-on role offering a mix of site work, design, and reporting, with clear progression opportunities as the team continues to expand.\n\nYou'll be joining a close-knit technical team where your input is valued, and you'll have the chance to work across the full project lifecycle-from ground investigation through to design and delivery.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nCarrying out and supervising ground investigations\nLogging soil and rock in accordance with current standards\nProducing factual and interpretative geotechnical reports\nUndertaking foundation design, slope stability, and earthworks assessments\nLiaising with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams\nSupporting junior staff and contributing to project deliveryRequirements\n\nDegree in Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology, or a related discipline\n2-5 years' relevant UK experience\nGood understanding of ground investigation techniques and geotechnical principles\nExperience in report writing and basic design calculations\nWorking knowledge of UK standards (e.g. Eurocodes)\nFull UK driving licenceWhat's on Offer\n\nCompetitive salary with regular reviews\nClear progression pathway and support towards Chartership\nVaried project workload across multiple sectors\nSupportive team environment with strong technical leadership\nHybrid working options\nCompany pension and additional benefitsThis is a great opportunity for a Geotechnical Engineer looking to develop their career within a consultancy that offers real responsibility, technical variety, and long-term progression
