The Role Hays is working with a leading engineering contractor delivering complex civil and infrastructure schemes. They are seeking a Geotechnical / Structural Engineer with strong drainage experience to support the design, assessment, and delivery of drainage and earthworks packages on major projects. This role will suit an engineer with a solid background in geotechnics and structural principles, combined with practical drainage design and site support experience. Key Responsibilities Geotechnical and structural assessment to support drainage and earthworks design Design and checking of surface water and foul drainage systems Interpretation of ground investigation data and geotechnical reports Input into temporary and permanent works related to drainage and substructures Liaison with designers, site teams, and external stakeholders Supporting construction activities with technical advice and problem solving Ensuring designs comply with relevant standards, specifications, and approvals Essential Skills & Experience Degree qualified in Civil, Structural, or Geotechnical Engineering (or equivalent) Proven experience in geotechnical and/or structural engineering with drainage focus Strong understanding of UK drainage standards and specifications Experience interpreting GI data and ground risk Familiarity with Eurocodes, BS standards, and industry guidance Ability to work collaboratively across design and construction teams Desirable ICE or equivalent professional membership (or working towards) Experience on infrastructure, highways, rail, or utilities projects Temporary works or earthworks design exposure Site-based engineering experience What you need to do now If you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now.
