Graduate Civil Engineer
Location: Cardiff / Newport based office + working from home
Education: Bachelor’s / master’s degree in civil engineering

A growing civil and structural engineering consultancy is looking to appoint a Graduate Civil Engineer to join its civil infrastructure team. The role offers hands-on involvement in the design and delivery of development projects, working alongside experienced engineers in a supportive and technically focused environment.

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will support project delivery and assist with:
Preparing SAB applications and liaising with local authorities
Assisting with Section 104 and Section 106 drainage design
Supporting Section 38 and Section 278 highways design
Assisting with concept and detailed design, including calculations, technical drawings and documentation
Attending client, design team and site meetings
Coordinating with statutory bodies, architects, M&E consultants and contractorsAbout the Candidate
A BEng or MEng in Civil Engineering, with an interest in working toward Chartered ICE status
Strong communication, interpersonal and analytical skills
A practical approach to problem-solving
Understanding of civil engineering design principles, including exposure to SuDS and CIRIA C753
Working knowledge or academic experience with PDS, Causeway Flow / MicroDrainage, AutoCAD and Civil 3D
Ability to produce clear and accurate technical reports
Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
