A well-established multi-disciplinary consultancy is looking to appoint a Graduate Geoenvironmental Engineer to join their growing team in Sheffield. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to kick-start their career, working across a wide range of environmental and geotechnical projects throughout the UK.
The Role
You will support the delivery of geoenvironmental and geotechnical projects from initial site investigation through to reporting and remediation. Working alongside experienced engineers and consultants, you'll gain hands-on experience both on-site and in the office.
Key responsibilities include:
Assisting with Phase 1 Desk Studies and Phase 2 Site Investigations Logging soil and rock in line with BS5930 standards Supporting groundwater and gas monitoring Coordinating site works, including supervising subcontractors and drilling crews Collecting and interpreting environmental data Assisting in the preparation of factual and interpretative reports Supporting risk assessments and remediation strategiesRequirements
Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering or a related discipline Strong interest in contaminated land and ground investigation Full UK driving licence (or working towards) Good communication and report writing skills A proactive and enthusiastic approach to learningDesirable
MSc in a relevant subject Previous site or industry experience (placement/year in industry) Knowledge of UK environmental legislation and guidanceThe Company
This consultancy offers a fully integrated service across geoenvironmental, geotechnical, civil engineering and environmental disciplines, working on projects including residential, commercial, infrastructure and regeneration schemes.
