We are currently working on behalf of a well known client, they are a well‑established and highly regarded engineering consultancy, who are looking to appoint a Graduate Structural Engineer to join their Edinburgh office.
This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate or recent graduate to begin their structural engineering career within a supportive consultancy environment, working on a diverse portfolio of high‑quality projects.
The opportunity
The successful candidate will join an experienced structural team and will be involved in the design and delivery of projects across a range of sectors. You will gain hands‑on experience from an early stage, supported by senior engineers and structured training.
Key responsibilities will include:
Assisting with the structural design and analysis of building projects
Preparing calculations, drawings and technical documentation
Supporting senior engineers through concept, detailed design and construction stages
Working collaboratively with architects and other design disciplines
Attending site visits and project meetings where required
Requirements
We are keen to speak with candidates who have:
A degree (BEng or MEng) in Structural or Civil Engineering
A strong interest in building structures and structural design
Knowledge of steel, concrete, timber and masonry design principles
Familiarity with structural analysis software (or a willingness to learn)
Good communication skills and a proactive, team‑oriented mindset
A desire to work towards professional chartership with IStructE or ICE is essential.
