This role will play a key part in delivering the Growth Strategy; you will proactively identify and research new income opportunities that support the diversification of Family Fund Group’s income streams, helping more families raising a disabled or seriously ill child access the support they need.
The role
We are looking for a Group Business Development Officer to work closely with the Group Director of Fundraising and Volunteering to look for new income opportunities. This role is offered on a secondment basis and is a great opportunity to develop your research, analytical, negotiation and influencing skills. This tole plays a key part in delivering the Growth Strategy and supporting the diversification of the Group’s income streams.
Main duties include:
Research databases, e.g. charity commission organisation lists, Local Government tenders, etc to identify opportunities for the Group to consider. This might include opportunities that the Group could deliver but currently don’t, or opportunities to partner with other organisations where the Group cannot deliver all the requirements.
Seek out tender opportunities within relevant business sectors not identified by the existing Group horizon scanning processes.
Target identified organisations/funders and initiate contact via Family Fund Directors, or where appropriate personally, to generate new opportunities across public, private and not for profit sectors.
Prepare and deliver sales presentations, as and when required, understanding the need to adapt style for the target audience.
About you
To be successful in this role you will be a self-starter, able to work independently and be results driven. Ideally you will have experience of presenting and selling to potential clients and funders but must have previously worked in a customer facing role. You will have strong research and analytical skills and the tenacity to follow leads to generate and develop opportunities to grow income.
