We operate at the cutting edge of cloud-native technology and are building mission-critical infrastructure for software delivery worldwide.ResponsibilitiesMonthly Accounting Close & Financial Reporting: Lead the evolution of global financial processes; oversee the accounting team; ensure system, policy and procedure support and efficient processes that provide accurate and timely financial information.Financial Policies & Internal Controls: Develop and implement robust financial policies, procedures, and internal controls over financial reporting; ensure reliability and integrity of data; ensure compliance with financial regulations across jurisdictions.Consolidation & US GAAP: Prepare and review global consolidation for a multi-national company and manage compliance with US GAAP.Financial Statements & Audit: Produce consolidated and subsidiary annual financial statements; manage end-to-end annual audit process; maintain relationships with external auditors and advisors; produce high-quality accounting papers.External Providers: Assist in selecting/managing external providers for accounting, audit, payroll, tax and compliance across locations.Technical Accounting: Oversee technical accounting matters; research and document complex transactions; interpret US GAAP and assess impact on international entities.Revenue & Tax & Treasury: Ensure correct accounting and tax treatment of customer contracts; manage credit control; oversee procure-to-pay and quote-to-cash processes; supervise global payroll; manage working capital and banking portals.System Design & Integration: Lead Sage Intacct implementation and ongoing management; redesign chart of accounts and data flows; participate in selecting/implementing modules like subscription management, procurement, AP, tax, and others.Tax & Compliance: Prepare and file tax returns in all jurisdictions; coordinate transfer pricing with external advisors to ensure compliance and value.Qualifications & ExperienceProfessional qualified accountant (CPA, ACA, or ACCA).Minimum 7 years post-qualification experience with a mix of industry and firm background.Experience in the SaaS industry with scaling organizations.Strong knowledge and practical experience of US GAAP reporting.Proven experience managing an accounting team for a multi-entity organization across geographies.Experience managing external service providers (audit, tax).Experience growing and developing a team; ability to identify talent.Proficient with Sage Intacct or similar (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle); experience with selection/implementation of such systems preferred.Attention to detail and accuracy; strong organizational skills; ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Team player, adaptable and proactive.Impact & OpportunityAs Group Financial Controller, you will join a growing, high-performing finance team, establishing the company’s core accounting standards and supporting organizations from startups to Fortune 500s in securing their software supply chains.Location, Eligibility & BenefitsYou must be based in Ireland or the United Kingdom and have the right to work without visa sponsorship.A competitive compensation package, including equity.Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.Generous annual leave and flexible working policies; professional development budget for conferences and training.Dynamic, innovative, trust-centric, and supportive work environment; opportunity to contribute to a fast-growing Series B startup.Regular travel for team meetings and events may be required.Additional InformationEqual Opportunity Cloudsmith is an equal-opportunity employer dedicated to a diverse workplace and does not discriminate on age, religion, sexual orientation, citizenship status, military service, health conditions, or other protected characteristics.The Final Word We are looking for someone who combines technical proficiency with strategic thinking, can build a core finance team, and is comfortable rolling up their sleeves.
