Reporting to the Director of Property Services, you will lead on all landlord health and safety compliance across a diverse housing portfolio. From strategy to delivery, youll inspire operational excellence, foster collaborative partnerships, and champion continuous improvement in building safety. The role of Head of Compliance and Building Safety isnt just about technical expertise, its about people. In this role, you will drive and support transformational change in the quality, maintenance, and performance of our housing stock, with residents' voices at the heart of what we do. Key responsibilities include: Working with a collaborative leadership style that prioritises meaningful resident engagement and codesign. Leading the management and maintenance of our property portfolio to the highest standards. Overseeing landlord compliance and drive continuous improvement. Delivering fire and building safety programmes with strategic and operational oversight. Supporting organisational goals and property service strategies in partnership with the Director. Ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, including the Regulator of Social Housing. Contributing to our Asset Management Strategy, with a focus on safety, sustainability, and growth. In this role, you will work flexibly for at least two days per week from our Central Office in Tower Hill, London. This allows for in-person collaboration, team building, line management and other relationship building opportunities. We support a flexible approach to work with opportunities for agile working for the rest of your week; from home, or other St Mungos London or regional locations. About you We are looking for a collaborative leader, with a passion for safe homes and meaningful resident engagement. You should demonstrate: Proven success in delivering fire and building safety remedial programmes. Experience in financial planning and budget management. Sharp attention to detail and a commitment to client safety. Experience in leading large functional teams with a leadership style that empowers managers to deliver effective results. Demonstrated ability to engage clients, residents and customers to improve services. Deep knowledge of compliance asset management, legislation, and performance assessment. Excellent communication skills with the ability to present information to senior teams. Strong negotiation skills with experience building strategic partnerships. Relevant industry-based qualifications or equivalent experience.
