The Opportunity

Finatal is partnering with a recently PE-backed SaaS business with turnover of c.£20m. The business needs a hands-on Head of FP&A who can combine commercial partnering with deep ownership of the detail, and who understands exactly what good FP&A looks like in a freshly PE-backed environment.

Reporting to the CFO, this role owns the FP&A agenda end-to-end, including forecasting, budgeting, KPI reporting and the company’s central performance dashboard used by the Board and PE investors.

The Responsibilities

  • Own and deliver forecasting, budgeting and re-forecasting with pace and accuracy
  • Build and maintain integrated financial models across revenue, headcount and costs
  • Own the business KPI framework and performance hub, integrating data from finance, CRM and HR systems
  • Deliver clear board and investor reporting, focused on drivers, variances and actions
  • Act as a commercial business partner to the CFO and senior leadership team
  • Provide detailed people cost, productivity and unit economics analysis
  • Support strategic initiatives including pricing and growth initiatives
  • Ensure alignment between management reporting and month-end financials

The Requirements

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified
  • Proven experience in a PE-backed SaaS business (essential)
  • Strong track record in FP&A roles owning forecasts, budgets and KPI reporting
  • Demonstrable experience working with subscription / recurring revenue models
  • Comfortable operating hands-on, while partnering credibly with senior stakeholders
  • Experience building or significantly upgrading FP&A models and reporting frameworks
  • Strong Excel modelling capability and experience with NetSuite (or similar ERP)

Highly Desirable

  • Experience of a full PE lifecycle within a SaaS business (e.g. entry, value creation, exit readiness)
  • Prior responsibility for setting up or professionalising an FP&A function in a PE backed environment
