Head of Health, Safety and Quality

We are seeking an experienced Head of Health, Safety & Quality to lead and shape safety and quality standards across our clients operational sites, including warehouses, distribution centres, and transport operations. This is a senior leadership role within a growing and well-established organisation, offering the chance to influence safety culture, drive compliance, and implement best practice across multiple locations.
The Role
As a key member of the senior leadership team, you will be responsible for:
Designing and maintaining robust health, safety, and quality strategies across the organisation
Leading multi-site safety initiatives, including warehouses, fleet operations, and logistics activities
Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and industry regulations
Conducting audits, inspections, and risk assessments to drive continuous improvement
Investigating incidents and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence
Setting KPIs, monitoring performance, and reporting trends to senior management
Developing, mentoring, and managing internal HSEQ teams across all sites
Collaborating with operational managers and stakeholders to embed a proactive safety culture
Acting as the primary liaison with regulatory bodies and external auditors
About You
The ideal candidate is a proactive and strategic HSEQ professional with a proven track record of managing safety and quality across operational environments. Experience in logistics, transport, distribution, or multi-site operations is highly desirable.
You will likely have:
Significant senior leadership experience in health, safety, and/or quality management
Strong knowledge of ISO management systems (ISO9001, ISO45001) and compliance frameworks
Experience delivering audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations
The ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, from operational teams to senior leadership
Professional health and safety qualifications such as NEBOSH or equivalent
A focus on continuous improvement, safety culture, and operational excellence
