Are you an experienced HR leader with a proven track record of operating in complex, multi-site environments across logistics, manufacturing, or industrial sectors?

Do you excel at partnering with senior operational leaders, engaging frontline and blue-collar workforces, and driving meaningful organisational change?

Can you deliver commercially focused people strategies that enhance performance, strengthen culture, and build trust across diverse teams?

MacGregor Black is partnering with a leading UK organisation to appoint a Head of HR / Interim Head of Business Partnering. This is a pivotal leadership role within a large-scale, operationally intensive business, responsible for shaping and delivering a high-impact, commercially aligned HR partnering model.

Reporting into the HR Director, you will lead a team of HR Business Partners supporting nationwide operational divisions. Acting as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, you will position HR as both a strategic driver and a hands-on operational partner.

You will play a key role in embedding a high-performance culture, driving engagement across frontline teams, and ensuring consistency of HR delivery from executive level through to site operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, develop and align the HR Business Partnering team to deliver consistent, high-quality support across multiple sites
  • Partner with executive and operational leaders to design and implement people strategies that drive productivity, engagement, and sustainable growth
  • Provide strategic input on organisational design, workforce planning, succession, and capability building
  • Champion engagement, inclusion, and safety across a large, predominantly blue-collar workforce
  • Act as a senior advisor on complex employee relations, union engagement, and collective consultation
  • Lead large-scale transformation programmes, including restructures and TUPE, ensuring strong communication and employee experience
  • Utilise HR data and insights to inform decision-making and measure impact
  • Coach and develop HR teams to build capability, confidence, and consistency
  • Drive continuous improvement across HR processes, policies, and ways of working

What We're Looking For:

  • Extensive experience in senior HR leadership or business partnering roles within logistics, manufacturing, distribution, or similar operational environments
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and deliver commercially driven HR outcomes
  • Strong expertise in UK employment law, employee relations, and unionised environments
  • Demonstrated success leading large-scale change and transformation initiatives
  • Strategic and data-led, with a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach
  • An engaging and credible leader, capable of developing high-performing teams
  • Resilient, values-driven, and committed to building inclusive, high-performing workplaces
