An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Head of Information Governance and Deputy Data Protection Officer to join our team. The Head of Information Governance and Deputy Data Protection officer is responsible for the Information Governance provision within the organisation. You will lead the Information Governance team to ensure the organisation has a single, managed, and co-ordinated approach to the implementation of Information Governance initiatives and are compliant with law, NHS regulations and best practice on information governance (current and as revised from time to time). You will have strong knowledge and understanding of NHS Governance processes. You will be an effective leader, able to bring excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills to the role and quickly establish your credibility both with internal and external stakeholders. The post holder will be the Trust Subject Matter Expert in relation to Information Governance and all associated matters, engaging across the organisation where required. The post holder will work with organisational leads to ensure the continued development of information governance as an integral part of the Trust business. The role will deputise for the Trust's Data Protection officer and promote a culture of good practice in line with data protection legislation, such as the Data Protection Act 2018 and General Data Protection Regulation, and NHS rules and regulations. Main duties of the job The Head of Information Governance and Deputy DPO will manage the Trust's main IG agenda, in the following IG areas: Advisory services Auditing Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) Data Security and Protection (DSP) Toolkit Incident and risk management Information Assets and Information Transfers Policies, standards, procedures, and guides Staff Subject Access Requests Reviewing research projects and activities Providing support to key projects, Training. The Head of IG - Deputy DPO will promote a culture of good practice in line with data protection legislation, such as the Data Protection Act 2018 and General Data Protection Regulation, and NHS rules and regulations. The Head of IG - Deputy DPO will work closely to support all Trust staff, specifically the Data Protection Officer, Senior Information Risk Owner, Caldicott Guardian, Information Asset Owners and Administrators, and the IT Leadership.
