Head of Market Pricing

This is a hybrid position, combining the best of both worlds - working from home and spending some time in one of our UK offices (London, Halifax, Manchester, Reading).

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Pricing Team as the Head of Market Pricing.

The purpose of the role is to lead the development and implementation of the Market Pricing proposition reporting to the Director of Pricing.

We’re seeking a proven leader in Personal Lines insurance pricing – someone with a strong track record of guiding high‑performing pricing teams and deep expertise in general insurance pricing and underwriting principles. You’ll be a collaborative partner and a confident, influential communicator who can engage, align and inspire peers and stakeholders across the business.

This is more than just a job – it’s a chance to grow, develop, and be part of something great.

Where will I make an impact?

  • Own and deliver a market‑leading pricing strategy that drives competitive advantage and profitable growth.
  • Lead an innovative, insight‑driven pricing proposition, championing advanced modelling, LTV improvements and price optimisation.
  • Partner with senior leaders to shape strategy, prioritise plans and hit premium and profitability targets.
  • Ensure robust governance, compliance and risk management across all pricing activity.
  • Lead key projects end‑to‑end with clear ownership of resources, risks and outcomes.
  • Build organisation‑wide alignment behind the pricing vision, influencing at Executive and Board level.
  • Track emerging customer behaviours and market trends to inform forward‑looking strategy.
  • Maintain strong external partnerships to support sustainable growth.
  • Build and empower high‑performing, engaged teams with strong succession pipelines, championing an inclusive, collaborative, one‑team culture, while setting stretching objectives, coaching for high performance and holding teams accountable.

⭐ What do I need to succeed?

  • A proven leader in Personal Lines pricing, bringing deep expertise in general insurance pricing, underwriting principles, and advanced statistical, mathematical and modelling techniques.
  • A strategic change‑maker with a strong record of shaping and delivering transformational programmes, crafting long‑term strategies and business cases, and turning customer behaviour, emerging trends and broad research into powerful, insight‑led recommendations.
  • A collaborative force who thrives in cross‑functional environments, aligns diverse teams behind shared goals, and builds influential relationships with senior stakeholders across and beyond the organisation.
  • A compelling and inclusive communicator, able to engage, influence and challenge peers, executives and external partners with clarity, confidence and credibility.
  • A people‑centred leader who inspires high performance, empowers teams, nurtures talent and consistently delivers exceptional outcomes through others.
  • Commercially sharp and market‑savvy, with strong business acumen, a keen understanding of customer and market dynamics, and the ability to anticipate future opportunities and make sound, data‑driven decisions.
  • An inspirational, resilient and proactive self‑starter who leads with integrity, takes ownership, drives meaningful change, solves complex problems with analytical rigour, and delivers results with minimal direction.
