Head of motor Underwriting | London, UK
1 Days Old
At Zego, we know that traditional motor insurance holds good drivers back. It's too complicated, too expensive, and it doesn't take into account how well you actually drive.
That's why, since 2016, we've been on a mission to change all of that. Our mission at Zego is to offer the lowest priced insurance for good drivers.
From van drivers and gig workers to everyday car drivers, our customers are our driving force - they're at the heart of everything we do.
We've sold tens of millions of policies so far, and raised over $200 million in funding. And we're only just getting started.
Purpose of the role
As Head of Underwriting, you'll lead the execution of our underwriting strategy and oversee the performance and development of our underwriting function. You'll be a key member of the management team and play a central role in shaping the future of Zego's insurance products and governance.
What you'll be doing
- Define and execute the underwriting strategy, risk appetite, governance, and referral processes
- Manage underwriting performance in collaboration with the Head of Actuarial and Portfolio Management Lead
- Lead product simplification efforts and ensure product value and clarity for customers
- Oversee underwriting audits, referrals from the group MGA, and internal governance
- Be an active member of committees including Pricing & Underwriting, Claims, and Risk
- Collaborate closely with reinsurers and other strategic partners
What you will need to be successful
- 10+ years of UK personal lines motor underwriting experience
- Proven ability to design customer-centric, clear, and fair insurance products
- Strong analytical mindset and commercial acumen
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
A willingness to relocate and be part of a growing, innovative business in Gibraltar
