As Head of Engineering , youll lead the technical evolution of Tilts core platform and infrastructure. Reporting directly to the CEO, youll be responsible for defining our engineering strategy, leading re-platforming initiatives, and preparing the organisation for the next generation of video and AI-powered innovation. Youll shape a modern engineering culture rooted in velocity, quality, and autonomyone that empowers teams to build delightful, performant experiences at scale.

This is a high-impact, executive-level role that offers the opportunity to directly influence Tilts future, both technically and culturally.
Define Engineering Strategy : Build, mentor, and retain diverse engineering teams across multiple locations, ensuring alignment, productivity, and career growth.
Drive standards for quality, performance, and secure development across the stack.
Accelerate AI Adoption : Help shape and implement AI-assisted development workflows and product capabilities.
Operational Leadership : Set and track KPIs for velocity, uptime, code quality, and team health; continually optimise engineering workflows and tooling.
Represent Engineering in company-wide decisions, external engagements, and investor conversations.
Frontend: VueJS, TypeScript
Mobile: Native iOS (Swift, SwiftUI, UIKit), Native Android (Kotlin, Jetpack Compose), with a shared KMP layer
Other: AWS, Vite, Webpack, GraphQL, Cypress, and more
Strong knowledge of modern frontend frameworks, particularly VueJS
Proven expertise with AWS services and IaC
Strong foundation in database design and management, particularly with relational databases
7+ years of engineering experience, with 23+ years in a senior leadership role at a high-growth startup (Series B+) or tech company
~ Deep knowledge of NodeJS, frontend frameworks and mobile platforms
~ Strong foundation in relational databases and schema design
~ Expertise with AWS services and Infrastructure-as-Code (CDK or similar)
~ Proven success leading engineering teams through scale, ambiguity, and rapid product iteration
~ Bonus skills
Deep experience with AWS Typescript CDK
Familiarity with NoSQL/Document DBs (e.g. Exposure to AWS Glue, DMS, or SageMaker
