This is a senior leadership role, reporting to the Director of Transformation and Excellence, with responsibility for shaping procurement strategy and embedding best practice across the organisation.Youll work closely with senior stakeholders and budget holders to ensure procurement activity delivers value for money, meets public sector regulatory requirements, and supports Salixs wider environmental, social and governance (ESG) objectives.This is a unique opportunity to build and influence procurement capability in a mission-driven organisation at the heart of the UKs net zero transition.Key Responsibilities:Lead the overall direction, coordination and delivery of procurement across SalixDevelop and implement a clear procurement strategy aligned to organisational goalsEstablish and embed procurement policies, processes and best practice across the businessWork with budget holders to ensure compliant, efficient and value-driven procurement activityEnsure compliance with public sector procurement regulations and Cabinet Office Spend ControlsDevelop and maintain a forward-looking procurement pipelineProvide regular reporting and insight on procurement activity to the executive teamSupport option appraisals and advise on appropriate procurement routesMonitor government procurement policy updates and implement required changesDrive continuous improvement in procurement performance, systems and processesLine manage and develop procurement capability within the organisationContribute as an active member of the senior leadership teamWhat Were Looking For:Were seeking a strategic and collaborative procurement leader with strong public sector experience and a passion for delivering value and impact.Membership of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) or equivalentProven experience developing and implementing procurement strategies, policies and proceduresStrong experience delivering public sector procurement exercisesExcellent analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to interpret complex dataStrong stakeholder management and influencing skillsExcellent communication and presentation skillsAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environmentA commitment to embedding sustainability and ESG principles into procurementWhat We Offer:28 days annual leave (plus bank holidays)Contributory pension schemeCycle to Work schemeSupport with public transport costsCSSC benefits platformEmployee Assistance ProgrammeDedicated training budget, including support for professional developmentWhy Join Us?At Salix, youll be part of a purpose-driven organisation making a tangible difference in the fight against climate change.
