The Opportunity
The Head of Product is responsible for the overall product strategy and roadmap for their respective business unit product, and its connection to desired business outcomes, including management of the digital product teams. This role is the driver of the multidisciplinary team through lean, agile-based incubation and commercialization process - e.g., Build, Learn, Adapt. The Head of Product will manage and evolve the digital products to achieve product vision and benefits (financial, efficiency, regulatory, customer experience), including alignment with strategic objectives. The role partners with senior leaders to define and align business and product vision and strategy. They will lead, develop, and mentor a team of product managers, software engineers and designers. This role will lead cross-functional teams in planning, prioritisation, and product delivery. The Head of Product is accountable to define and measure business impact, monitor performance of initiatives and communicate performance metrics to key stakeholders across the business unit portfolio. They will also leverage data to understand risks, impacts, scope and priorities of our business objectives, and enable the team to drive results.

Product Management: Managing and developing products or services through their full life cycle from inception, growth, maturity, decline to retirement.
Innovation: Identifying, prioritising, incubating and exploiting opportunities provided by information, communication and digital technologies.
Strategic Planning: Creating and maintaining a strategy to align organisational actions, plans and resources with business objectives.
Benefits Management: Forecasting, planning and monitoring the emergence and effective realisation of anticipated benefits from projects and programmes.
Stakeholder Relationship Management: Influencing stakeholder attitudes, decisions, and actions for mutual benefit.
Information Systems Coordination: Coordinating information and technology strategies where the adoption of a common approach would benefit the organisation.
Measurement: Developing and operating a measurement capability to support agreed organisational information needs.
Investment Appraisal: Assessing the attractiveness of possible investments or projects.
About You
Experience of successfully managing and delivering complex custom build software products.
Experience of Product Management across the entire lifecycle.
Experience of informing strategic direction and decision making up to and including Business Unit Exec and Board.
Can successfully operate at Executive level, forming strong relationships and engagement as needed across all levels of the Business Entity.
Experience and proficiency in analytical decision making, organisational design and technical operations.
The ability to quickly develop a good understanding of the business area within which they are operating.
Experience of working within a heavily matrixed organisation, with the ability to drive for results.
A good understanding of financial management, benefits management and realisation linked to business results.
Experience of sourcing, service models and leading and driving partner relationships for delivery.
Has proven leadership, relationship, communication, and presentation skills.
Conveys confidence and professionalism, positively influencing and persuading others to take a specific course of action.
At least 5+ years of product management experience and at least 3+ years of experience successfully leading and improving teams that are highly effective both in terms of impact and team culture.
Excellent analytical skills with demonstrated experience with hypothesis-driven problem solving and turning data into actionable insights.
Deep understanding of business strategy and metrics.
Superior communication skills with demonstrated ability to navigate a complex organization and generate buy-in for ideas and plans.
Strong technical background, with demonstrated ability to partner effectively with engineering, designers, UX, and data science.
Experience and understanding of the energy sector, regulatory/technology/business issues impacting the industry and future trends is highly desirable.
Entrepreneurial mindset, with a bias for action and ability to deal with ambiguity and rapidly changing environments.
MBA or equivalent graduate degree preferred.
Ability to embrace and drive change - test and learn culture!
