Head of Retail

We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Head of Retail Operations to lead the strategic direction, financial performance, and day‑to‑day delivery of all retail activity across the resort.
This is a highly visible, hands‑on leadership role combining strong on‑floor operational presence with advanced commercial, buying, and category management expertise. You will play a key role in maximising revenue, profitability, and guest spend while ensuring an outstanding visitor experience and the highest standards of presentation, safety, and compliance.
The role also includes a dual reporting line to the Group Retail leadership within the Looping Group.
Key Responsibilities
Provide clear, visible leadership across all retail outlets.
Maintain high standards of guest service, store presentation, cleanliness, and stock availability.
Optimise layouts, queue flow, and trading readiness to maximise conversion and spend.
Lead daily and seasonal operational planning aligned with attendance and events.
Commercial Performance
Deliver revenue, margin, and spend‑per‑head growth in line with targets.
Monitor KPIs including conversion, ATV, stock turn, shrinkage, and labour productivity.
Identify initiatives to increase secondary spend and profitability.
Collaborate with Marketing, F&B, and Events teams to maximise trading opportunities.
Buying & Category Leadership
Oversee buying strategy, supplier negotiations, and pricing structures.
Develop commercially relevant product ranges aligned with guest demographics.
Define category strategies and deliver assortment, pricing, and promotional plans.
Create exclusive, themed, and own‑brand merchandise.
Manage full product lifecycle from launch to phase‑out.
Set merchandising and visual standards to improve conversion and storytelling.
Ensure strong in‑store execution and compelling seasonal displays.
Performance & Analysis
Monitor sales performance, stock levels, margins, and promotional effectiveness.
Analyse customer behaviour, trends, and competitor activity.
Implement data‑driven improvements and corrective actions.
Safety, Compliance & Standards
Ensure full compliance with health & safety, retail regulations, and audit requirements.
Maintain strong stock control and loss‑prevention processes.
Uphold brand and operational standards across all outlets.
Leadership & Development
Lead, inspire, and develop a high‑performing retail team.
Drive engagement, accountability, and a guest‑focused culture.
Oversee recruitment, training, succession planning, and performance management.

Proven senior retail leadership experience in a multi‑site environment.
Strong commercial acumen with experience in buying and category management.
Track record of delivering revenue growth and operational excellence.
Exceptional leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
Ability to balance strategic planning with hands‑on operational delivery.
