Head of Sales – Non-Food – Trade & DIY channelOverviewWell-renowned supplier of non-food products, predominantly within home & DIY channelProducts are innovative, unique and tailored specifically for retailers across a mix of brand & private-labelBusiness supplies a number of key retail channels including DIY retail, grocery, high street and onlineCulturally it’s a supportive, inclusive business with strong values and long-standing employeesImplementing a number of employee-based working policies to further enhance culture of the businessDue to growth plans, an opportunity has arisen to join the business as Head of Trade Sales in the UKResponsibilitiesLeading a team of 5 Commercial Managers on the Trade side of business for a leading non-food supplierOverseeing operations across a wide customer base such as Jewson’s, Travis Perkins, Screwfix, Merchants, Buying Groups, Local Councils, Authorities and Independent retailersMust have excellent leadership, communication and relationship-building skillsStrong commercial acumen, able to manage complex negotiations and do all forecasting and reviewing market trendsAble to lead and coach the team, working closely with senior leadership team to drive results across the trade channelThink strategically, be a part of a growing business bearing in mind wider company valuesIdeally you will have experience in a non-food category such as DIY, Home, Kitchen or a related industryPrevious involvement in trade customers across the industry would be viewed favorablyExperience in leading a sales team would be beneficial, our client will also consider someone looking to progress into a Head of Sales positionYou will have strong experience in a commercial role for a supplier businessBe a strong leader, able to coach and develop a team and work well with wider internal colleagues and external customersComfortable in a fast-paced product driven business and able to work well independentlyBe personable, a strong communicator and lead in a supportive mannerAble to travel as per the needs of the role and businessThis role will be field-based with some travel to Hampshire based head office as requiredQualificationsExcellent leadership, communication and relationship-building skillsStrong commercial acumen, able to manage complex negotiations and forecast market trendsExperience leading a sales team or progressing into a Head of Sales positionExperience in a commercial role for a supplier businessBe personable, a strong communicator and lead in a supportive mannerAble to travel as per the needs of the role and businessIdeally experience in non-food categories such as DIY, Home, Kitchen or related industryPrevious involvement with trade customers across the industry would be viewed favorablyBenefitsUp to £75,000 basic salary, company car, bonus and excellent wider benefitsCompany Car, Bonus, Healthcare and employee assistance programme – great wider benefits availableField-based role ideally with some travel to Hampshire based head office – overnight stay available if requiredPlease send your CV using the form on this page, quoting reference 2/17453.
