Job Summary The Head of Seasonal will lead the Christmas and Furniture team in sourcing, developing, and managing commercially successful product ranges across our garden centres. This role combines market insight, trend awareness, strong negotiation skills, and data‑driven decision‑making to deliver profitable, high‑quality ranges that meet customer expectations and support the company’s growth strategy. Key Responsibilities
Define and deliver the strategic direction for product ranges. Ensure seasonal deadlines are met while sourcing, developing, and managing high‑quality products. Lead and inspire the Seasonal team with regular meetings and support. Set and achieve shared goals to foster collaboration and collective success. Source, select, and develop products for profitable, high‑quality ranges. Negotiate pricing, minimum order quantities (MOQs), lead times, and trading terms with suppliers. Build and maintain long‑term supplier partnerships. Manage seasonal product changes with clear exit strategies to minimise disruption and maximise profitability. Monitor product performance and use data insights to optimise sales and margins. Plan and execute promotional programmes, including Family Card offers. Develop and grow the company’s own‑branded products with various departments. Stay ahead of market trends to keep ranges fresh, relevant and inspiring. Ensure stock availability by placing the right products in the right locations at the right time. Collaborate with Operations to maintain high retail standards across all centres. Ensure accurate pricing and product data in the EPOS system. Manage buying budgets to deliver financial targets.
Qualifications & Skills
Strong negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills. Analytical mindset and data‑driven decision‑making. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Exceptional organisational and project‑management skills. Proficiency in software tools for data analysis and procurement processes. Thorough understanding of FOB (Free on Board) terms. Proven track record in sourcing products globally. Experience in product development. Experience managing own‑branded projects. Experience within a multi‑retailer environment.
Working Arrangements
Flexible working that combines remote work with on‑site engagements. Regular visits to garden centres, suppliers and trade shows in the UK and overseas. International travel including extended overseas trips.
