HGV Class 1 Driver – Trunking / Curtain side – Tamworth, StaffordshirePeople Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Tamworth, Staffordshire.This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay, consistent weekday work, and genuine opportunities for long-term progression within a professional logistics environment.This position is ideal for candidates seeking a role as a LGV Class 1 Driver, Category CE Driver, or Articulated Lorry Driver.Shifts:• Monday to Friday • Start times between 03:00 – 07:00 (flexibility required)Rates of Pay:• £17.00 per hour – Basic • £19.14 per hour – Saturday • £25.18 per hour – SundayBenefits:Your benefits as an HGV Class 1 Driver will include:• Excellent hourly rates • Ongoing, reliable work • Weekly pay • Paid training and induction • Supportive transport team and modern facilitiesDay to Day Duties:As an HGV Class 1 Driver, your day-to-day duties will include:• Completing 2–3 depot-to-depot trunking runs per shift • Operating curtain side trailers (no handball required) • Driving Category CE vehicles safely and efficiently • Carrying out daily vehicle checks before and after shifts • Ensuring loads are secure and compliant with transport regulations • Communicating effectively with the transport office and customers • Reporting vehicle defects or maintenance issues promptlyEssential Skills:The skills required to be an HGV Class 1 Driver are:• Valid UK Category CE (Class 1) driving licence • Minimum of twelve months' Class 1 driving experience • Valid Driver CPC qualification • Valid Digital Tachograph card • No more than six penalty points for minor offences • No major endorsement codes • Strong understanding of UK road traffic laws • Excellent communication and timekeeping skills • Ability to work independently and maintain professionalismDesirable Experience:• Previous commercial driving experience • Experience completing trunking or depot-to-depot runsTraining Provided:• Driver assessment required prior to starting • One-day paid induction following successful assessmentApply:If you are ready to take on this opportunity as an HGV Class 1 Driver, please apply today and a member of our recruitment team will be in touch.People Solutions do not charge candidates any fees or request deposits at any stage of the recruitment processJBRP1_UKTJ
