HGV Class 1 Driver

to join our well-established client based in Derby, Derbyshire. This is a fantastic opportunity offering great rates of pay and room to grow and progress. This position is ideal for applicants looking for a role as a LGV 1 Driver / Truck Driver / Category CE Driver. Shifts: Monday to Friday (AM) : start times from 04:00 Monday to Friday (PM) start times from 15:00 Rates of Pay: 04:00-19:00 - £17.08 per hour 19:00-04:00 - £ 21.34 per hour Sunday - £25.60 Overtime after 48 hours £21.34per hour Benefits: As a HGV Class 1 Driver you will receive the following benefits: Excellent Hourly Rates Ongoing Work Weekly Pay Onsite Canteen - one free meal per shift Training Provided Immediate Starts Employee Well-being Program Day to Day Duties: Your duties as a HGV Class 1 Driver will involve but not be limited to: Trunking from depot to depot in the East Midlands - up to four runs daily Using straps to secure loads on trailer, which can be technical due to cargo Operate and drive various Category CE vehicles in a safe and efficient manner to and from delivery locations Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections Ensure all cargo is loaded and secured properly Adhere to traffic laws and regulations Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers Report any vehicle defects or maintenance needs to management Assist with loaded and unloading of cargo as needed Essential Skills: As a HGV Class 1 Driver you will need to: Hold a valid UK Category CE Licence No more than six penalty points for minor infringements and no major endorsement codes Have a valid UK CPC Card and UK Digi Card Must be able to speak and read a good level of English Punctuality and excellent time keeping skills Have a good understanding of traffic laws and regulations Effective communication skills Desirable Experience: Experience driving any commercial vehicles would be beneficial Previous experience in multi drop experience will be beneficial Training: Driver's Assessment must be completed After successful assessment, you will undergo a paid induction the same day Contact: If you are ready to take on this exciting opportunity, apply today by clicking the link below or get in touch with our recruitment team to find out more People Solutions do not charge any of their candidates any fees or request deposits at any stage of the recruitment process
