Main Duties of the HGV Trailer Technician:
  • Conduct comprehensive inspections, servicing, and repairs on HGV trailers
  • Diagnose and repair faults within EBS systems (HALDEX, WABCO, KNORR BREMSE)
  • Ensure all compliance documentation is completed accurately and promptly
  • Adhere strictly to health & safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment
  • Participate in industry training to keep technical skills current and relevant
Specification:
  • Proven experience working with semi-trailers or heavy transport vehicles
  • Relevant industry qualifications such as City & Guilds or NVQs
  • Strong diagnostic skills, particularly with EBS systems (Knorr Bremse, Haldex, WABCO)
  • IRTEC accreditation is highly desirable
  • Additional skills such as welding, axle testing (BPW, SAF, JOST), or tail lift maintenance are advantageous
  • Ability to perform well under pressure whilst maintaining high standards of quality
  • Motivated to develop further through ongoing training and industry courses
