SALARY: £27,779 FTE / £20,928 Actual Annual Salary + Benefits

Part-Time, Permanent (term time only) WORKING HOURS: 32.5 hours per week, 8.30am – 3.30pm Monday to Friday,term time only, 39 weeks

As a growing school, the organisation has an exciting opportunity for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant / HLTA to join its dedicated team within a supportive primary education environment.

Working closely with teachers, the Higher Level Teaching Assistant / HLTA will support lesson planning, curriculum delivery, classroom management and assessment. You will deliver structured learning activities, provide SEND support and help raise standards of pupil progress and attainment.

The Higher Level Teaching Assistant / HLTA will teach whole classes during short-term teacher absence, lead small group interventions and provide 1:1 support, promoting inclusion, safeguarding and positive behaviour management at all times.

DUTIES

Your duties as the Higher Level Teaching Assistant / HLTA will include:

Lesson Planning and Preparation:

Work collaboratively with teachers across all stages of the planning cycle to prepare and evaluate engaging learning activities

Whole Class Teaching:

Deliver pre-planned lessons and supervise whole classes during short-term teacher absence

Small Group and 1:1 Support:

Lead targeted interventions and provide individual support to meet pupil needs

Assessment and Feedback:

Monitor pupil progress, provide verbal and written feedback and contribute to assessment records and reports

SEND and Inclusion Support:

Promote inclusive practice and support pupils with special educational needs and diverse backgrounds

Behaviour Management:

Apply school behaviour management strategies to maintain a purposeful learning environment

Safeguarding and Welfare:

Uphold safeguarding and child protection procedures to ensure pupil wellbeing

Parental Engagement:

Contribute to meetings with parents and carers, providing constructive and sensitive feedback

Resource Management:

Develop and organise teaching resources and maintain a safe learning environment

Supervision Duties:

Supervise pupils during non-lesson times and on educational visits in line with school policies

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

HLTA qualification

Previous experience working within a school or primary education setting

Proven experience of supporting lesson planning, curriculum support and classroom management

Experience with behaviour management and safeguarding procedures

Ability to support SEND pupils and promote inclusive learning

Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team

Ability to work independently when leading whole class learning
