Higher Level Teaching Assistant

ANZUK Education is working with a welcoming, well-supported primary school in Kingston Upon Thames seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team from April 2026. This full-time position offers the opportunity to deliver high-quality learning across year groups and provide targeted intervention support that makes a real impact on pupil progress.
The school is known for clear behaviour systems, collaborative planning, and strong leadership visibility, creating an environment where staff can focus on delivering excellent provision and achieving strong pupil outcomes.
This HLTA role would suit experienced HLTAs, experienced Teaching Assistants ready to step up, or Learning Mentors with strong classroom delivery experience.
Key Responsibilities of an HLTA:
Deliver high-quality lessons in line with the National Curriculum.
Lead small-group or whole-class teaching in the absence of the class teacher.
Support effective preparation for KS2 SATs through targeted intervention.
Maintain high expectations for pupil progress, attainment and behaviour.
Support pupils' social, emotional and personal development.
Communicate effectively with parents and carers when required. The Ideal Candidate Will:
Hold an HLTA qualification or equivalent (essential).
Have experience delivering whole-class teaching confidently.
Demonstrate strong knowledge of the National Curriculum.
Maintain high expectations for pupil progress, attainment and behaviour.
Show an exemplary commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Be able to work collaboratively within a team and communicate effectively with colleagues and families. What The School Offers:
