Housing Area Manager

BDS are recruiting a temporary Area Housing Manager to work with a housing association to support with the delivery of high‑quality, customer‑focused tenancy and neighbourhood management services across a dispersed area of around 5,500 general needs homes. The role is predominantly hybrid/office based in Exeter, with regular travel across the Plymouth patch required Main duties include but not limited to; * Lead, manage and motivate a team of Housing Officers to deliver effective tenancy and neighbourhood management services * Provide strong visible leadership, setting clear direction, maintaining a high‑performance culture and supporting staff development * Oversee tenancy management across the area, including tenancy breaches (non‑income/ASB), safeguarding concerns, hoarding, domestic abuse, tenancy fraud and unacceptable behaviour * Actively manage risk, ensuring compliance with internal controls, policies and legal requirements * Resolve customer complaints within agreed timescales, identifying trends and implementing service improvements * Work collaboratively with specialist internal teams and external partners to reduce tenancy failure and support sustainable communities The ideal candidate will have; * Significant experience managing or leading teams within social housing or a related sector * Strong knowledge of tenancy and housing management, including tenancy breaches and customer engagement * Experience improving performance, managing change and delivering service improvements * Confident working with performance data, reports and KPIs * Good understanding of housing regulation, landlord and tenant law, and best practice Salary; £54,410 per annum Hours- Monday – Friday 9am- 5pm YOU MUST BE A DRIVER WITH ACSESS TO A VEHICLE Apply now for immediate consideration
